The minute you walk into the bright, colourful reception area of The Washington you can tell that this is no ordinary budget hotel. With The city-centre shops and tourist attractions close by you are never more than a short walk away from finding your Bristol. The Washington was once a large and grand private house. The bedrooms still retain high ceilings and, in many, the original floor to ceiling windows with shutters so the bedrooms are light, airy and comfortable.

Directions
By Car:
- From M5: exit the M5 at junction 19 (Gordano Services) and follow heritage signs to the Clifton Suspension Bridge (toll bridge).
- Go over the suspension bridge (you will need 50p in silver - no 5ps) and carry straight on until reaching a mini roundabout.
- Turn right at the roundabout onto Clifton Down road and take the 2nd left onto Merchants road.
- Follow the road around Victoria Square and down Queens road.
- At the double roundabout take the 2nd left into St Paul's road. You will find the Washington Hotel 200 metres to your right.
From the airport:
- Depart on Northside Road and turn right.
- Continue along North Side Road and take the 1st exit at roundabout.
- Take the 1st exit at roundabout onto the A38, then turn left onto the A3029, Winberstoke Road.
- Turn left onto A370 (Brunel Way) and continue straight ahead onto the A3029 (Bristol Gate) and bear right onto the A4 (Hotwell Road).
- Turn left onto Clifton Vale, then turn right onto Goldney Avenue.
- Bear right onto Lower Clifton Hill and turn left onto Clifton Rd.
- Continue straight ahead onto Richmond Terrace, then turn right onto the B3129 (Queens Road).
- Turn left onto St Pauls Road.
